Message from Robert Conway

(Director of Blakell Europlacer Limited &Chairman of Parable Trust Limited)

I am pleased to announce that Parable Trust Limited has acquired 100% of the shares of Blakell Europlacer Limited from the Kellard family. This acquisition comprises all of the Europlacer and Speedprint businesses worldwide.

By way of introduction Parable Trust Limited was co-founded in 2005 by Philip Louis and myself, as a ‘not-for-profit’ company with the objective of promoting the growth of people’s talents in business for the Glory of God in the marketplace. Our values have been based upon the principles of faith and generosity in helping others to start and grow businesses and also to acquire, turnaround and build more mature businesses. All of the value released from these businesses after reinvestment is deployed to support International Mission groups and projects to help the poor and needy, and to help transform people and the communities in which they live, accordingly we have no shareholding or personal economic interest in the company.

Around the same time as starting Parable Trust in 2005, I joined the board of Blakell Europlacer Limited as a non-executive director serving alongside Jenny Kellard and Derek Gaston, and it has been a privilege to see the answer to so many of our prayers, over the last 7 years, as this amazing business has not only survived the worst global market crash and recession but has then grown and blossomed into a high quality world leading player in its chosen markets. It is a great testimony to the management team and to the many loyal, long-serving and committed members of staff who have worked so hard over many years.

Accordingly we are very excited about taking over the stewardship of this group of businesses. Both of our organisations comprise businesses with strong heritages founded on Christian principles and have complimentary objectives of creating value which is deployed to help transform people and communities to bring Glory to God. We want to build on the solid foundations that have been established over the last 40 years since the business was started by the late Pat Kellard, who I first met in 1996 and has a had a big impact on my life. We are extremely grateful to Jenny Kellard for her willingness to put her trust in us and to pass the baton over and release these businesses to us to steward, secure, maintain and grow in the future. We recognise that Blakell Europlacer is an excellent business with great products and a very loyal team of talented people. We hope to identify, release and multiply the gifts and talents of all the people who currently serve in the business and to strengthen and grow the team going forward.

Derek Gaston has decided to step down from leadership in Blakell Europlacer and will leave at the end of May 2013.  In the immediate future, Derek will concentrate on developing AGR Automation which he and Sharon have stewarded for the last  7 years after the business ownership was left to them by the late Pat Kellard.  We are extremely grateful to Derek for his loyal service over the last 15 years and his excellent leadership of the group over the last 12 years, which has been faithfully given unselfishly with total commitment and incredible passion, and we will all miss him. However we are delighted that Derek has agreed to work closely with us on an orderly transition and handover plan over the next 3 months, and thereafter to continue to make himself available in an advisory capacity such that we are able to retain access to his experience.

We plan to work closely together through this transition to secure the business, its excellent people and strong customer base. We also look forward to visiting and meeting you all to hear your stories and views on the business, such that we can work together to develop the strategy for taking this business forward.

Yours faithfully and with God’s love

Robert Conway
